Hi guys.
Quick question.
AU1 XR6 HP. Does it have IRS ( I dont think it does, but need verification), and is it an LSD and what ratio. I think it is a 3.45:1 LSD, but am just double checking.
Thanks in advance.
Josh

It isn't IRS, they could be optioned with LSD, right with the ratio

Not all were standard LSD though .... they had to be optioned ... only higher spec vehicles had the LSD standard from memory.

LSD was standard on all AUI XR6 HP's. It then became a factory option on the Late Edition AUII HP's onwards.

Ute axles are different to sedan and wagon. I found out this the hard way when my tonner bounced of a gutter a couple of weeks ago.

Have you tried putting your dash into diagnostic mode HLC? I think the speed that will show is accurate.

No it wont.

HLC, at 100km/h your speedo will be reading around 108km/h. Going from 3.23 to 3.45's will be a waste of time, bugger all noticable differance, but as far as speedo gears go, they are readily available for 3.45's and cost f' all

Just put 3.9's or even better 4.11's in there HLC. If you are going to play with diff gears then play for real..

Yes, I'm back.

I would have to recommend the 3.7 if your changing from 3.2 to 3.4in the auto. i have a au xr6 3 auto and have found first gear very disappointing. If your not fussed about fuel economy and a high revving engine on hwy go 3.9.

i only got the 3.45 diff gears because i want the LSD, and i got it for 150 bucks.

im not trying to break any land speed records with my car, cause frankly an AU wont cut the mustard for that.

i just want to consistently lay 2 black lines at a time without my single spinner getting too hot and locking up and being random lol.
