pick up another turbo

i picked another turbo, but is a kia cerato) runnaround car ) 1.6 turbo. like so many people have blanked off the there blow of valve, plus its return line before the turbo, can the same be done to a cerato with similar side effects of a blanked off xr6t? or would a fault code come up of sorts.
