Default SNAKES and Floods

Hi everyone, PLEASE everybody in FLOOD ares at the moment Watch out for SNAKES and make sure your kids are aware as they are more likely to play in and under things in this weather were having lately,SNAKES will be taking shelter on high ground rite now,

and also it only takes two feet of water rushing across road to sweep a car off into the creeks.
STAY SAFE
also another problem for us Queenslanders is the BRUCE HWY,its a disgrace at the best of times but right now its deadly, huge pot holes and in just the Maryborough Area my mate has picked up 17 cars last 3 days with smashed rims (all those low profile tyres on big rims)

I was watching a doco a few years ago on floods I think in WA's top end, it showed snakes swimming and taking shelter in the same tree as usually prey animals. Funny, my first thought was dead animals and a happy snake, but the prey was safe. Snake even went close to the critter trying to get into the tree, but backed away and found another branch. Apparently they wont eat as it takes them time to swallow and digest and they are more worried about being able to move around. Was weird.

Doesnt really help with bites if they fear their own safety though. Just found it interesting at the time.

I was watching the news about the floods and a guy with horses said he couldn't use the small amount of high ground he had left as it was full of snakes.

I guess they need to go somewhere too!

i was just saying to the guys at work yesterday that we havent seen many snakes about. with all the water i would have expected to see more on the road etc.

maybe just cant see them for all the grass about. and there is huge amounts of frogs here now so they would not beed to travell much for food.

i would imagine that in the flatter country it would be different with the who area going under water.
