Talking Holy #@$@#$#@! What a difference

Well picked up car today...let me say first impressions... Holy ******* **** what a difference. This thing is amazing. No more dropping back gears to over take, it cruises really nice, my god when you give it some it goes. And it sounds completely stock at idle, i mean wow. During gear changes you hear a most wonderful flutter...im in love with my focus again. Dont have access to a scanner at the moment but the dyno sheet shows 132.8kw at the front wheels. Engine bay looks pretty stock hey

Congratulations Lonesta!!! I think you'll find you have one of the most "sorted' turbo Focus' around. Others have tried, but have always had issues. Read an old Motor article today on the ASE turbo Focus... looks fabulous.

You should drive over to Melbourne for Small Ford Sunday. You'll be made very welcome.

Enjoy!!

Nope, only internals changed was an oil change and better spark plugs, i drove it home 70km mostly thru heavy traffic and the gauge didnt didnt go any higher than normal, was also about 35 + degrees on the way home as well and had no problems what so ever.

Wow you have some serious power there! Yes you will indeed have an XR5 eater, provided you can get the power to the ground. Is it hard to launch smoothly, and what about torque steer?

Thumbs up

Lets just say if you loosen your grip whilst planting your foot in first and you will be through someones front yard before you can say ****, very different beast to drive, im going easy at first till i get a hang on how to drive the thing, i have full boost at 2500rpm the thing is a rocket, over taking on the highway is wow. Next on my order list is a better rear solid motor mount and a Engine Torque Damper .

But no if you drive it sensibly, its not hard to launch at all, only if you go nuts in first will it be a handfull, feed the power in and it goes very nicely indeed.

Sounds like you're one very happy focus owner! Are you still running the standard brakes? If so, me thinks you might need to upgrade to something larger!

Ill try to get a friend in the car on friday with a video camera and show you guys how its goes . Ill post it up on youtube. Of course i wont be going over the speed limit or doing burnouts or other things of that nature. But nothing illegal with going 0-110 on the highway

Nope first gear boost isnt limited, so its a handful when i boot it. Wish it was an auto lol, so then i dont have to take hands off steering wheel. Havent gotten to take a vid of it yet. But you will see how it goes when i boot it.

$6500 dollars, not too bad i guess. But i want more done to it of course, like changing the stock exhaust. Will need a retune after that. But really 6500 not much compared to a friend whom just spent 4 grand on a set of rims

This sounds pretty good bud, is this a locally produced kit or a U.S./Euro sourced kit, I guess you guys with the Focus would have a wealth of aftermarket coming in from these places.

But ye looks good though, the I/C looks pretty different on one of these.

Have fun
Stef

Local kit, that was once featured in motor magazine. From Auto Sport Engineering in SA.

Standard manual, MTX-75. I meant auto just by the fact i hit the limiter in first so fast and its not exactly easy to hold the wheel at the same time, of course its only a problem when driving anything but normal =P, driving normally tis no problem at all. Lol i made my mother nearly throw up in the car today, she went white when i floored it.

you have to take it to the legal drag races to see the new quater mile time it can do.

btw i suggest working on suspension and brakes would make a world of difference in handling and stopping.

Yeh definately gotta lower it to try and stop some of the weight transfer to the back wheels under hard acceleration.
