was at heathcote, ford forum nationals.

the harder i tried to push the car the slower the time. As soon as i backed off a little and launched around 1500rpm with part throttle my times started dropping into the 13's.

when ever i launched at 2500rpm with the LC i was in the 14's, esc off or in sports mode made no difference. With esc in sports and opening throttle a touch then slipping the clutch in before going wot seemed to reduce wheel spin a little and bring my times down.

Hi I am new to this forum. My husband found an exhaust and short shifter gear from a USA site but we don't know if it will suit Australian car. The company in USA can't be sure it will and Ford in oz were very disinterested in after market mods. Can someone pls tell us how we find out if the USA short shifter will fit or if there is a place in Oz we can buy. Tks for your time

Hi, what brand of exhaust and short shifter? In any case I don't believe there are any compatibility issues with the USDM and ADM models with these parts regardless

and what model of car do you have. If you post a website link of what you are buying that will also help.

Hey all,

No where near as awesome as some of the changes others have been making to their cars, but I thought I would put up some shots of a couple of minor cosmetic changes I have made to the car recently.

Before:
Attachment 84882

After:
Attachment 84883

Don't look too close at the finish of the above, as the masking tape I used was obviously old and bled a fair bit. The advantage with plastidip is that I can easily remove and replace or get it done professionally if I decide the added colour is a keeper.

Personally, I really like the way the wall of yellow is broken up with the black, and inbetween the reflectors is the perfect spot to do that.

And this is what I got the boys to do for me at the last service. Yeah, I know, the red would have suited the overall colour scheme better but I just couldn't bring myself to putting the opposition's colour onto my calipers. Hence, the blue. But it was supposed to match more closely the centre caps, but the blue on the centre caps is definitely a lot darker.
Attachment 84884

So, what do you guys think?

Calipers looks tops though.

I'm trying to learn to do stuff to my Focus, and this was the very first thing I've ever done.

I put a new Kenwood head unit in when the stock stereo stopped working.

First, the connections were not the same as the loom I bought (which every car place, including Tonkins, told me would be right)

I decided to try to do it myself, instead of paying someone else. I cut the plug out, and stripped the wires back. Then I crimped on some female connections, and some male ones onto the stereo wires.

Once I had the head unit in, the fascia I bought from the UK didn't fit either. Apparently the Kenwood was not a normal shape or size.

I cut down some strips of perspex and filled in the extra spaces, then I took the stock fascia that came with the Kenwood off.

I then wrapped the modified fascia with carbon fibre vinyl wrap and shaved down a few of the edges of the fascia to get a good fit.

Here's the finished product. (I have shaved it down a bit more since these pics to get it more flush with the dash, but you get the idea.)

The front brakes had an upgrade this weekend. Feels much better now. The combination I went for fouls the stock wheels, and the Speedy's only just made it on.

Thanks mate. Another question the hole on the bottom left on the rotor is for what?

I assumed it is was for those cars that have a countersunk screw that holds the rotor in place.

Changed the appearance of my MkI. Rear Roof Spoiler parted ways with the rest of the car on the way back from the Liqui-Moly 12 Hour @ My. Panorama. It was slightly loose but didn't expect it to "disappear on me.

To True pajoda. As a matter of fact I've been hunting down the OE 5 Piece Body Kit since. Contacted Rex Gorrell (they were the very last Dealer I was told that had it in stock) and have been told that the said item is obsolete. So, I'll have to do some research on where I'm going to get a replacement. Any ideas? please P.M. me.

so the missus and i sold our lr to our daughter ,,
now has a reliable , safe , dependable car ..
we had a void in our drive way , so we went for a drive to the north of the state and bought a ls in blueprint blue with the smooth pack .
got a realy good deal on it and was happy ,,,
that was last fortnight ,,,
bit of hmm ,!!! too stock looking ,sort of .
then another one the same drove past ..

bugger this .

so we ordered some angel eye headlights and led tail lights from an ozzy ebay seller .
then some window visors were ordered .
as well as a sh****y mini ariel " wich has seemed to improve the radio reception ,," go figure "
then yesterday our 17x8.25 xxr wheels with 225's arrived at the tyre joint ,,
today the red back 2.25 inch exhaust arrived and was promptly bolted up .
tomorrow the windows get tinted .

future plans are to find some zetec fog lamps for the bumper,
and the second reverse light kit to even up the tail end.

no more seeing the same bloody thing drive past us ,,!!!

That depends if you put white stripes on Tho I have some projector/angel eye headlights yet to be installed along with a WRC inspired front splitter.

There are some better photos of my car around here somewhere. I don't check in very often anymore.

Nothing really to add regarding changes to may car recently. Got a new shiny nail inserting into my rear tire the other day.

Due to changes to my work, I'm getting the road height restored to stock as I cant get into the car park. Will adjust the sway/strut bars and damper as well to make the ride more comfortable. Been looking for a decent Autobot decal to place in the middle of the bonnet tho I have not yet found something I like (been dreaming of getting is airbrushed).

Installed a TV antenna recently to allow me to watch TV on my headunit but sadly the reception from the antenna is crap, so i'll be going into JayCar some time to see if they can recommend something. I know nothing about antennas.

Ahhhha,,,!!!
So it is yours I was drooling over on my first "tour" of this forum ...
Very cool ...

Ummmm .....actually talked to a stripe guy two days ago .....

Sorry .....just looks neat and will make it stand out .

Windows have been tinted now .....20% .....enough..
But reversing out of our alleyway of a drive way at night has become difficult .

Have also removed the wheels and rubbed some carnauba wax on them to help the brake dust situation ...
Spotted a spray on can in repco ....might check it out next visit .
