Default Mildura 1/8th street meets, Rules/licenses?

being starved of opportunities to race my car here, and with the AFF meet now 4 months away, I'm looking at heading to Mildura's 1/8th to get a fix.
Being an ANDRA sanctioned track, I'm unsure of the rules/regs/requirements for/regarding street cars at the street meets.
Is an ANDRA day license required? does your car have to meet andra regs/specs and be tech'd, or just basic roadworthy-type scrutineering?
I don't want to head over then be told I can't race :

If someone who has raced there can fill me in it would be appreciated

ANDRA rules "should" be the same at every track. Under 7.70 you need a super street licence, under 7.0 and you need UDL and Tech Insp. Most tracks will give you some leeway first time out at their track, depends on the attitude of the official on duty most times. Good people up there, best bet would be give them a call and see what they say.

As long as you are slower then 7.70 you'll only need a day licence which they will be able to provide - $5.00 and just normal scrutineering no tech. inspection required.

As JD Dad said they are good people.

Also Whyalla drags 1/8th mile

Wow interesting read, there would be a lot of turbo Falcons including mine would need a UDL and Tech Insp, for our daily drivers... best half track time 6.80@106mph.

Yes I think a few would get a shock when told their daily driver needs a cage, seat, harness, tech insp and a $400 licence

The boys and I went there at easter couple of years ago for the tri state champion ship. We all ran between 7.0&7.7 and we didn't get hassled, scrutineering was VERY rudimentry, some real buckets running there!Understandable, since the dust there is unbelievable, your'e car will get FILTHY and fit an air filter! I'm still cleaning dirt and dust from Mildura out of my car, from almost 2 years ago!

Whyalla is ANDRA sanctioned as well so they run the same rules.

Can also get very dusty - and hot - last race up there was on the 9th of Jan and it was about 45

is the dust at Whyalla better since they sealed the pits etc? Was as bad as Mildura when we were there in 07

Whyalla is better, plus you don't have to go 5km on a dirt road to get there. The only dust came from the spectators car park.

It's not much further to Portland, probably worth the drive for the extra sticky

is the dirt track out there still corrigated? , bout time they at least got the pits sealed been 10 years too late, its not a bad track there but unless its a big comp on i think you'll be wasting time, dont think there is a plethora of fast cars from mildura anymore.

Portland is a great track - lots of grass and no dust - bit cold though!

Mildura is having the road sealed in February so that should improve the dust situation somewhat.

Also, 20th of March they are having Top Doorslammers!

whyalla is having a t'n't on march 6th and the final round of the tri-series on march 7th, and I've been told we're welcome to have a go in both. So we might head over there for a weekend of racing/fun. Just waiting to hear what licences/rules we have to have/follow are..
