Default who does what for lunch ?bbq's? at work?

lately when i do manage to squeeze a day or so of work in, especially if its a friday, the boss organises to hold a bbq lunch or brunch, usually lunch. It's good, because its a bit different?

who else here does something different at work?

We have drinks at work for peoples birthdays, increased sales in the financial year. Any excuse really.

Until I got posted to another department, we used to have a BBQ lunch every Thursday rain or shine. If it rained, we'd go find somewhere with cover. And Fridays was a half day anyway.

For the work I've been doing, they have a monthly BBQ. I'm a deliveryman so I usually just get lunch on the road. The BBQs are great. I'm only casual though, so I'm hoping I can still get Friday work now that the uni semester has started (I have Fridays off this semester).

Every now and then one of us will get sent over the road and get a whole heap of chinese for lunch. Normally when the big boss isn't in, and his daughter is running the show (she's in her 30's). The boss doesn't go away that often tho :(

No, my boss is as tight as a fish's.... I usually nip down to Nandos or the sushi joint and we sneak that in during our shift - granted my job is as easy as pie and pretty much just young casual workers.

During the wet in the Top End, the Barbie would be on at Lunchtime, and beer would be out by 2pm. Anyone who came in the shop, got a beer and a snag. Sometimes we wouldn't pull up til 11pm!
Here we sometimes have Grower barbies. All the growers in the area (our clients) come in, and we put a barbie on for them. Good way to catch all our clients at the same time.
Beer... Is there anything it can't do!

Who does what for lunch?

Well, I used to do a good looking girl in accounts, but she's since married me and I now contract anyway.

These days I make do with sandwiches or a burger, lunch was so much better back then. Still have the girl though, so I can't complain too much.

We have a midyear function and a christmas function for our local office. These are the key "non-remuneration" rewards by our employer... basically involves a nice meal and a few bottles of wine.

We were taken out to lunch by one of the heads of the organisation last friday, in recognition of a 'job well done' in completing a recent project. I must say, it was a very nice pat on the back as we did go above and beyond the call of duty getting this particualr job done. Big platter of meat and a few choice glasses of red.

Every-day lunch involves the sandwich toaster in the tea room. Occasional trip to the local yiros joint, or a burger from oporto...

When i had the work shop i would put on a BBQ every Friday, as well as drinks ( work would stop at 12.00). I found that by doing that for them it not only go me better workers but our work turn around and stuff ups were less, but having said that it was also good PR for us as well.

My work is crap, we get crucified if we take our breaks at the same time as the printing press has to stop. It is such a load of crap as your not meant to have less than 2 people to a machine, but we are so understaffed that there is always 1 person running a machine while someone is at lunch..

Oh and all we get is a xmas BBQ (but only after 1pm when we have finished a half day of work) whereas the office people/managers are out there drinking all the good wine/beer by 11am while we are inside scrubbing machines..

Ah well, thats why I am outta there soon I suppose!
