Unhappy the difference in front struts???????

need to know the difference in struts between the 1.6 and 2L mk2 struts... is there a difference in the cartridge size? or spring or completely different?

Both spring and shock are completely different.

I was going to swap a strut from a 1600 into my sons 2000 but it is smaller over all, 4" shorter as well. I have been thinking of swapping them both over to lower the front and modify the rear to help him corner a bit faster but they are definitely softer as well.
