Although not my local anymore - still manage to sink a fair bit of booze at the Crafers Inn. Apparently built in 1839, one of the first stops in the Adelaide Hills.

Nothing special... just know all the local drunks, (sing it now: "where everybody knows your name....").... its all very laid back. Food is top notch. Beer even more so.

Greengate hotel

On the pacific highway at Killara.

Built 1833 as a coach stop - I think it was about a horses ride from Sydney town back then. Rebuilt in the 1920s/30s.

There are no good watering holes in my area. I usually drink at a mates place, but when we feel like going out for a rugby match it's the World's End Sports Cafe just down from my house.

Shooters ?

Slainte Irish Pub is good too, makes a nice change to go into an Irish pub and be served by people that are actually Irish.

I'm not much for pubs but on a similar important drinking matter, the Bar across the road from work( Priviledge aka Mink Bar, Sydney CBD) has $3 drinks ALL NIGHT on Fridays. Thats unbeatable value.

If I had to nominate some pubs I'd prob say :

The Mean Fiddler at Rouse Hill, NSW.

The Albion and The Collector Tavern in Parramatta are ok too. The Albion has bands and a metal night on Thursdays(?). The Collector has bands but it's prob aimed more at dance events.

The Kandanga Hotel, one of my favourites for a cold one and a game of pool after a hard drive through the hills.

I think it's been painted since that photo was taken...

A vegemite character means the keg is old mate. You drank from an old dud batch of beer. Happens all the time when the beer isnt a big seller and gets left in place for extended periods. Turns to crap. Try one from a bottle from a BWS.

Used to live 2 min walk from this place. pokey little bar but very relaxed and good food. Is undergoing renovations at moment and will be better laid out. Too bad it's now a 15 min drive away. No more staggers home.
I also a good stop for cruises all you SA ppl
