Default Fare thee well, AU lubbers!

Or as I now drive a mister-bishi (as my youngest called it one day), Sayonara!

Well, with the XR gone as of about 4 hours ago, that's me with no AU! Olds still have one, and sister is looking at one, but me - none! I think that's the 7th and last....but never say never.

Let's see:

AU1 XR8 Hot Chilli red 5 speed
AU1 XR6 Galaxy VCT auto
AU2 V8 Forte Meteorite auto with Tickford suspension
AU1 XR8 Galaxy auto (on mixer ring LPG - 140rwkw)
AU2 I6 Forte wagon silhouette (with XR front)
AU1 I6 Fairmont Auto on LPG (now UK's sons car)
AU2 XR8 Venom auto (220kw motor from factory)

Never did get an AU3.

Best car of the lot? I'd have to say, the AU2 Forte V8 . With the mods I did to it, it handled great (King coilovers front and rear), went great (the 175 motor ended up putting out close to 150rwkw), and looked great - with the brumby bar, XR skirts and Hawke rear wing, even the odd genuine T3 owner confused it for a T series.

Then the wagon - we still miss that car.

So.....so long for now; of course I'll still be around and will check in from time to time, but will spend most of my time in the Territory section, and the Project cars section for the supercharger build up on the terry. (http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthread.php?t=11330509).

sniff, sniff - See you round like a rissole.

Well in that case - do I qualify as the current highest number of AUs owned?
Any current owners owned more than three AU's?

Also JC i'm going down your path and having a dabble in the e-series LWB's for a bit

also also I had a 380 VRX as a work car for a short while about 4 years ago
was top fun. they have a pretty good 5-speed auto, but reversing visibility was poor.
But what i liked most of all was the combination of the big six cyl grunt combined with the dartiness and general non-land-yacht feeling that the AU's sorely lack.

Oh and they're new and not old hat like the AUs.

I agree and so does my son. I must admit I love looking at that car just before it gets dark, great colour.

Sorry to put a dampener on you, but i own three T series TE50's & had an AUII XR8 previously.

AU1XLS beats us all. He has 5 different versions of the T series and an AU ute.

Ah, i thought i'd ask first.
I wonder who's done the most kays in an AU?
I'd say smoo would be up there. I'm only sitting on about 140k across my three

A few - mainly window switches, a few actuators (no worm gears though, just rods and motors etc) - some standard shocks and springs for an AU live axle.

Well, I also said, never say never!

Am looking at an AU tomorrow, and an ED. ED is favoured at this stage because whichever car I get is copping the charger, and the charger came off an ED, plus the ED has known history, so it's sort of a no-brainer! But if the AU runs OK, and the price is less than the ED, the AU may get a look in.

What sort of charger setup do you have?
