Angry Focus 2006 power steering fault

Focus 2006
Hi everyone our car has become very hard to steer, as if the power steering has failed
As well there is a “Power steering Failed” notification has come up
This has happened over about 3 months with the failure indication coming up but then disappears after a few seconds
The only other indication is an orange light beside the odometer on the left hand side
The only recent maintenance was a new cv joint
The belt seems ok
Any advice appreciated
Phil

Dude there's a new thread up on power steering in the Focus section.
You've probably fixed it but just in case .
Cheers .
