Default Slash your car costs by 30%

Reading an old mag ( for a 60's party idea's coming up ), came across a full page article on how to slash you costs by 30% and a graph on where the money goes. would not like to do one for 2006.

In 1969 the average wage was about $27.00 for men. About $20.00 for women. It was law that women were to be paid 25% less than men. I think that it was 1970 when that law was over turned.

if the average wage here is 500 a week now that works out to $4250 per year on petrol going by inflation only. (v8)
$100 on petrol now per week is $5200 pa but our cars are a hell of alot more effecient lol

working on the assumption 1969
avg wage $27 p/w x 52 = $1404pa
spending $190 per year in petrol 6cyl
190/1404 = 13.5% spent on petrol of your wage

working on the assumption 2006
avg wage $865 p/w x 52 = $44980pa
13.5 % of your wage spent on petrol $6072pa
or $116.77 pw

Not quite as bad as giving them the vote, though (puts on flame suit).

The 3 biggest mistakes men have ever made......
1. we let them vote
2. we let them drive
3. we let them into the work force

Now who will have to put on a flame suit?

Hmmm...if I was living in 1969, I'd have bugger all.

But if I had the same amount, I'd have 45 grand. Nice. I'd buy a lot of Falcons, store them away, give them some juice every so often and let them accumulate value.

No I wouldn't.

I'd put money into Microsoft. Then I wouldn't even have to write here. I'd get my maid to do it for me.

You could do both, otherwise you would be very bored for 16 or more something years...
