I'd highly recomend PremierTint on Whitehorse road in Mitchem. I got darkest legal at the front and a little more darker at the back for only $195 about 6 months ago. Comes with life time guarantee too.

Tint-a-Car in Ferntree Gully. I can't be sure on the price, but it was around $260. The owner (and person who did mine) is part of the FPV/Tickford Club in Vic. ;)

ive had very bad experiences with premiere tint, they use cheap film, they may have done good job, but they tend to use the cheap shit film that goes purple, dont know if they still use the same shit. (just hope they dont)

Tint Professor quoted $267 for their top of the line metallic tint about 2 months ago. Tint-a-Car was around $450 (they use the same tint apparently), but with 3 cars or more it was $345 per car.

If you guys are looking at doing any sort of bulk buy I need to redo the Eunos. With my EA and Laser I got the top of the range Tint-A-Car and paid $345 both times.

This time I want something darker, which I'm sure they can accommodate.

The Tint Professor deal sounds tempting...

I'm up for a bulk buy. I'd want to go with The Tint Professor, as they gave me the most information about what they do and why they do it, and they also seemed nice to deal with . Not to mention they were pretty cheap, and you get a loan car while they do yours ;) hehehe. So, who's interested other than Jack?

I went to Advanced Window Tinting in dandenong. It was $260 ($295 for my mate's wagon) for the darkest legal tint, lifetime guarantee (against fading, peeling, etc). It's 'Quantum' brand (apparantly one of the best out there) metallic tint.

But most importantly, they looked after my (and my mate's) car. When we picked them up, there were no left over bits of tint, the car's were all as clean as we left them and the quality of work was excellent!

I've known people who have gone to some of the bigger name places and had there car come back with shit work, in a mess, etc.

I got my XF done at Premier Tint in mitcham and they did an awesome job. The tint has a lifetime warranty on discolouring now.

They screwed up my front window-it creased where the glass enters the top of the door frame and they fixed it no questions asked. Plus it was only $180.

I'd be in for a group deal as well guys.
Tint professor sounds the go.

OK the question is now when. But maybe if we all pay at the same time they won't care if some of us take a bit longer to get our car to them. Also, where are they located?

Heh! I'm not trying to sound like a pessimist, but good luck getting a discount from the Tight-**** Professor :P I tried organising something similar through a mate not long ago, and they wouldn't give a lower price than normal for 10 cars. Go figure.

But you may get the, "oh, okay, we will give you 20 bucks off" but they do that to every knuckle head to make them think they are getting a genuine discount! That's why I suggested you ask Tint-a-Car in FTG - at least the owner is a dedicated Ford enthusiast too (owns a BA GT ) and does excellent work.

I certainly have an open mind to Tint A Car as I've been happy enough with their work so far. They have 2 models, one of which is significantly cheaper but I have gone for the 'formula 1 plus' in the past. I may be passing by the area in the next several days so I'll try and speak to the guy. Do you know his name?

It would most likely cost a noticable amount more to have old tint removed. I'm in the same boat. I could only afford it if it were part of a group discount.

Will be looking to get the EL done soonish.

Tint removal is roughly 80 bucks.

Jack, the guy's name is Ross (as far as I remember!) I know a couple of the other forum members know him personally.

May i suggest waiting until winter rolls around too, because thats when alot of the places will offer trade prices on their tints and you'll get a considerable discount than what you would during the summer.

I agree here, I did the same thing in June 2 years ago, and got some top of the line metallic tint that has a mirror finish to it for $300, 'darkest legal' lol......

If we were to do a group buy, would we all have to get the same tint, or would we have a choice of a few? I know I only want F1+ tint (darkest legal), or the equivalent top of the line tint from which ever place we end up choosing, but others may not wish to get that tint?

Also, tint professors will do the rear window a shade darker (than legal) on falcons, where-as tint-a-car will not. I think they do it coz the rear window lets heaps of light in on our E-series, and tinted illegally it still looks legal? Dunno on that one though, but i don't really want to void my insurance just yet.

Apparently the professor was offering trade prices, and possibly still is according to the web site. It was a Christmas special and the site hasn't been updated since. This could solve our problem. I've sent off a query.

I believe we are looking at the equivalent of F1+ Jared. I'm not a believer in cutting corners.

I am expecting a reply on this tomorrow. Currently the grand total is at 7 cars according to this thread. I am hoping we can arrange to all pre-pay at the same time and then arrange convenient dates after that.

If any other forum member wishes to join us then please say so now.

Well, after looking at my bank balance after the excess was removed yesterday, it seems i have close to nothing left, so i'm going to have to pull out, unless we can arrange it for 2 months away?

Probably can't postpone the deal, but thanks for letting us know now rather than after things are sealed. No doubt this can be done any time.
