We had a great day here in SA. I was a bit stressed Saturday night with our weather, near gale-force winds and heavy rain.. and it was still going at 2am while i was out in the shed working under the coupe :

when it was time to leave though, the sun was poking through the clouds and the wind had died right down, and i was feeling a bit more relieved..

I went straight to our venue (the historic Fort Glanville, in Semaphore), to set things up so i had no idea on how many people were at the meet point.
Big thanks to LethalLeigh for taking care of everything at the meet point and getting everyone on their way.

I was cooking the bbq when everyone started rolling in, almost felt like i was having a bbq at home and all my mates were rocking up lol..

I didn't get a final number on how many cars we had there, but it was more than was on the list in the SA thread, and that was over 50. There were a few cars there that i had never seen before, which is always a good thing.

I knew there were plenty of people there, as they all came over to the bbq at once A huge thankyou to my wife Lori, Stu (46302ute) and his partner Kathy, Glenn (coupe72), and Dave (kraftyZC) for doing such a good job with the bbq, you guys'n'girls are legends. I promise a better container for the cash next time

We had a brilliant range of cars there, from the early 60's t-birds, Leighs XK wagon and the cortina, all the late 60's and 70's muscle, to the current XR5 Mondeo and the FG's. Despite the weather early in the morning, all the cars were looking at or very near their best. Well done to everyone on the presentation of their cars

The list of winners for the trophies is as follows:
Best Engine bay:
1st - supercharged ED, Mark (Opto)
2nd - Red 1960 T-bird

Best Interior:
1st - Red 1960 T-bird
2nd - XM Ute, Marty (marty1000cc)

Best Exterior:
1st - XB GT Coupe, Kerry (apollo66)
2nd - blue 1966 mustang convertible

Best Over-all:
1st - blue 1966 mustang convertible
2nd - green XC Coupe (chookncarol)

Promoters Choice:
We (the state organizers) were told we could give this to whoever we wanted for whatever reason. I gave mine to George Kassos, aka Captain chicken. George has a very cool XC Fairmont coupe (the red one in pics in the other SA posts, on 10" globes/challengers), but it was mainly for his generosity towards our event. George rang me a while back and offered to cover the cost of the venue, and supply food for the day. An outstanding effort on his part, we all thank you George!

We also had the kids colouring competion, this was judged by my wife Lori, and Daves wife Ally (thanks!).
The winners were Dylan Brown (6, parents are from the Tickford FPV car club), Benjamin Farrell (8, son of Markof from AFF), Melanie Farrell (9, daughter of markof), and Vanessa Kassos (6, daughter of George Kassos).
I had one boy run up to me with his entry while i was reading out the winners, that put me on the spot lol..

we added up all the cash lastnight, and after expenses we raised $510
Great effort by all involved. Well done too to everyone in the other states, the state organizers, Spoolman, and anyone else involved behind the scenes.

Looking forward to next years event already

Ok, I've uploaded all my photos now. Here's a few, the rest are in my gallery here: http://www.photosbypearly.com/photos/v/fordforums/

These are small for quick loading, those that want higher resolution photos of their cars can click on the button above the image to open up the bigger one.

Thanks Pearly,

How did you manage to frame the moving Calder shots so well? Also, what filter was on your lens. I am stoked with the one of my T. Will need to get onto your sight for a higher resolution one.

Just practice I guess. I've been hanging the camera out the window to take shots for a few years now, so I'm a kind of used to it.
Sometimes I have to crop the image to frame it a bit better though. I didn't tell anyone I was taking pics though, and a lot of the
time cars were zooming past a bit too quick, which is why the focus isn't the best on most of them. I had to adjust my speed to suit each car coming past.

The only filter on the lens at the moment is a UV filter. It's only there to protect the lens.

Nice picks as always Pearly was good to see some of the AU gang out in full swing XRs and Ts and and fine example take out top prizes on the day these are VICs results I have cut and pasted from Spoolys post in the Vic section

Quote Spooly Dude :
The weather played its part once we got to Bendigo, after a bit of rain on the cruise.
The turn out and the amount of toys was nothing short of fantastic you guys were very generous with your support.
The only thing I would like to see next time is more kids, we had Santa and coloring competition, lollies, coloring pencils to help keep them entertained.
The show n shine and raffle tickets raised $480 which was outstanding.
We still need to do more work to get things rights; an earlier planning time will only see this improve.
Manys thanks to the following people who supported and helped us put this day together.

Greg From Sureflo exhaust worked hard on the exhaust supplier in Australia got all the goods we auctioned to buy toys.
Whoohsa & Russellw for there event support and show n shine judging and organising the S.E. Cruise.
Geez louise event support and putting the coloring comp together.
Burgz event support with Bunnings and hamper donation.
Mark and Tracy (pink bits) for there work getting Santa to Bendigo (Santa was a bit frisky yesterday) lol.
My wife Kim who helped me through out the day.
Melz who dealt with the Council and all there red tape..
And to all you guys who turned up and supported the day you were all very generous with your support.
All our sponsors who donated cash and goods.
