Default Little help? Au2 smartshield decided to die...

Whats the best process for fixing it.
I've had the car since brand new and I've tried both keys in it and both failed. What's the next step?

Jay.Blanket,

Can you elaborate on your Smartshield issue? What happens when you put the keys in the ignition and try to crank your car? What lights do you get on your dash?

The parameters between the BEM/ECU etc. might just need to be reset. Mine did this recently. Talk to your local auto sparky, most of them have the software to do it, or diagnose where the issue is.

okay so i basicaly gave in after leaving my car at work friday night and coming back saturday morning to see if i could come up with anything or if sombody from NRMA could come get it started but instead they send an idiot who knew less then i did and tried less then i already had tried and i got it towed to blacklocks simply because they were the only place i could get the car into a shed for the weekend... soo i picked the car up monday and paid a ridiculous $320 and yes it starts... and has started fine all week......
Untill 20 mins ago.. drove the car about 5 mins stopped to pick somebody up the car was stopped for probably 5 minutes and jumped back in tried to start it it started and 2 seconds later died... tried again same thing.... 3rd times the charm and it started with a little extra help with me putting a few extra revs into it.... Also the car idle is really awful it tends to drop right down to about 500 rpm and then comes back up to about 800 but I dont understand why it is doing it... The car drives fine normaly its just the failed starts and the poor idle...

Whats causing all my problems???
is something in my car about to die??
Does anybody know where to start looking for the problem?

My 3 year old FG Xr8 just came back from being fixed. The car was spluttering and would not rev, it finally dies and would not fire up. They found a fuel filter full of black crap and a stuffed fuel pump.

Have the fuel filter/Pump been checked???

Hi mate i had the exact same problem with shart shield except for the rough running, it was the BEM (body electrics module) that was stuffed so a new one from the wreckers ($75) and needed to be reprogrammed to my car by auto sparky.
