this has probaly been asked millions of times but who cares.
what do you do to make your headlights clear on el/efs or whatever ,as mine are fadded cheers.

have they gone yellow of just frosted?

sand them with 1200wet/dry sandpaper.
make sure to have plenty of water....otherwise you'll scratch em to badly.. use a buffing machine with some paint polish (propper paint cutters) then use a light polish ie maguiars scratch x with the buffer, they should be as clear as new.... |

If they have gone yellow like mine did, it was on the outside of the light. I rubbed them back a bit with 2000 grit sandpaper, then using 2pack cutting compound and a foam pad on the 9 inch grinder, i got onto it with that, taking back the roughness and fine scratches, then finally i polished them with some car polish. Brought them up brand new! As for the frosted look, i think this happens on the inside of the light and as far as i know the lens cant be seperated. U can pick up brandnew lights from M.A.W. They get Glass EL headlight made in tiwan for 130$ a light. worth looking into.

they are all plastic.... there are NO glass EF and EL headlights (other than XR)

woah certainly wouldnt take 4 hours..... i generally sand for 5 minutes, then polish......
did he have any lenses left????? all up it takes around half an hour per headlight.... |

Awesome news! I don't think that he polished them. I think he just sanded them. Said he spent around 2 hours a light. Glad I checked this before I started...

I'm pretty sure wet and dry is about $1 a sheet from supercheap. Is it worth trying to get cheap?

It's actually been like that for a few years now! The nuisance is that I bought new lights back in 2002 after I pranged the car. Less than a month later, it's been chipped!

i just used the buffer and "Cut & Polish" which i use to polish my car, work really good, almost as good as new
