Default broken timing belt on pinto

hi if you break a timing belt on a pinto 2.0L does it do nothing or does it smash all the valves into the pistons?thanks.

you can be lucky or unlucky. i think the general rule of thumb is that the slower the engine is spinning, the better your chances.
