Hoping for some help.
Replaced the Serpentine belt on the 2007 LT TDCI Focus, however intermittently the Alternator light comes on and off. Anyone has had a similar issue, the alternator is just out of warranty, replaced 18 months ago. Only change was the serpentine belt broke, so replaced with a new one. It does make some noise, which gets louder, when the alternator light comes on. Thanks |

Have you checked the belt tension?

if it is mainly a problem in the first few minutes after you start the car the belt is slipping because that is when the alternator is under load replacing the battery drain from starting

Sorry, forgot to respond with the solution.
So the alternator had to replaced, to fix the issue. By the time I got the alternator replaced, I found out the previous alternator had a 3 year warranty, so I have a spare one for the time being. |
