Default First custom tuned ST focus in Australia

Check out the HERROD Motorsport face book page for the results of the First ever custom tuned ST in Australia using SCT custom tuning software and X3
The car has been on the dyno all week whilst we logged and worked out how to tune the new ecoboost 2.0
Pretty impressive results

whats it worth and will it void my warranty

as for being the first custom tuned ST in aus im pretty sure you've been beaten by a few months, I was speaking to an older bloke with a blue ST that has a few mods including a hand held thing from Pumaspeed in the UK

Yeah of course it will void your warranty - at least to do with anything engire / drivetrain related anyway.

And I think Rob is referring to a locally-done custom dyno tune, not a generic tune imported from overseas.

Nobody in Australia has custom tuned a ST in Australia . Yes warranty would be void . Costs should be around the $1500.00 mark including the Xcal 3 and custom tuning on the Dyno . Do not get this price confused with a generic mail order tune from the UK that should be cheaper

That's a nice gain, I dunno why it was tuned with standard hardware. Wouldn't you purchase supporting hardware then tune? So if owner mods it wouldn't it need re tune?
Anyway well done guys.

That's a really nice gain for just a tune with no supporting mods. How different does it feel on the road now? Will you be doing any other hardware mods for STs in the future?

Always said i couldnt wait to see the result of a tune on the 2.0eb, add some mods and tune again and look out 300kw focus' and falcons with 4bangers and use no fuel bring it on!!!

Well done herrod!

*although that seems to be a large drivetrain loss, the focus st has 184kw at the engine yeah? Drops all the way down to 116fwkw? I would have thought that the final tuned figure of 149fwkw would have been just about the standard figure????

the bloke is running one of these from what i could see, looked like it plugged in under the dash
http://www.pumaspeed.co.uk/product-S...-Box_15837.jsp

car also had another exhaust, intake and intercooler and a set up for E85, he did say it came with a few different tunes that he could select but had it changed to suit the E85 ??

I dunno who he is, though he was late 50's from Windsor NSW seemed to know what he was talking about

Yeah thats a generic tune, ie off the shelf. Same type as the one i have in my car. A custom tune is a tune made for a particular car and its supporting hardware and requires the car to be run on the dyno when being tuned.

Noob here, but how does those figures compare to the 184kW stated in the brochure? I'm considering an ST / XR5 as something smaller yet still zippy to replace my XR6.

p.s. for those like me that didn't like scrolling through Facebook, here's the individual links for the Focus discussions:

Well the car was tested standard then tuned, so the standard result is there aswell.
