Default Haunted Roads

Hello Guy's n Girl's
First off i have seen two Ghosts and i haven't got a screw loose.
It is said that The Wakehurst park way that takes you from Seaforth all the way down to the Northern beaches is Haunted.
Many driver's who have driven that road around midnight have seen a women in the middle of the road and had driven right thru her.

At other times motorists have seen this Ghosts whos name is Kelly on the side of the road and when they stop the ghost is gone.
There have been times that the spirit suddenly appear's in the back seat and the spirit can be seen thru the rear view mirror but then is gone again after a second look.

They think Kelly disappeared in the early 2000s and was possibly hitchhiking at the time of her death.
In 1960 a body of a young boy was found on the side of the road in Seaforth.
In 1995 the body of a Macquarie University student at Frenchs Forest and another person was killed in 1994 when shot with a high powered Bow.

I have driven the Wakehurst Parkway when i lived in Sydney many many times but never between midnight and 3am in the morning.

I found this out when i was on the way down the South Coast and was listening to a Midnight Radio show the radio Announcer was talking about Haunted roads.

He got that many caller's from the Northern Beaches saying they have seen a Ghost on the Wakehurst Park way and i thought " they cant be all hoaxed caller's".

Channel 9 news also did a thing on the Wakehurst Parkway.

My Wife is adamant she experienced an encounter with the Port Wakefield Rd ghost late one night almost 25yrs ago.
She was heading from her home town on the Yorke Peninsula to Adelaide driving her new Hyundai Excel when out of the darkness she saw a person wearing a 'uniform' standing in the middle of her lane.
She had no time to swerve and said she closed her eyes and braced for impact only there wasnt one.

This was well before we had internet and we had no idea that it wasnt an isolated incident.
Rumour has it the uniform clad person was of a WW2 pilot who was killed in training out near Mallala and there have been many reports of people sighting and even picking him up as he hitch hiked on Pt Wakefield Rd.
It still makes her shiver when its mentioned.

You should of elaborated a bit more in the thread title?
Maybe "Anyone seen a Ghost" or "Things that go bump in the night"
Just a thought, good thread idea but very limited in its scope!

There is a roadside stop near where I live that allows people to stop overnight, there is a toilet block there etc. A number of people I know of have said that the spot is 'creepy', quite a few people have packed up in the middle of he night and moved on

My cousin and his wife were coming from Melbourne to see us, the stopped there for a smoke, my cousins wife said that the stop gave her creepy feelings - she knew nothing of the others saying stuff, they are from Newcastle in NSW

It is a fairly new roadside stop area, but it is part of a old memorial drive with trees planted by the father of a soldier killed in WWI, each tree has a plaque to a dead local soldier

Had that strange feeling something wasn't right on an overnight stay in Wingello State Forest, NSW.
I guess having Bellanglo SF just up the road made us both feel uneasy.

Pine forests can feel quite creepy I guess.

Only strange figures I've seen on TWP in Sydney was punters filling their water bottles at the spring at the Frenches Forest end and occasional mountainbiker darting around the road.

Not quite a ghost, but in my younger days in early 90s, mates and I were punching cones near Kangaroo Creek reservoir and I swear I saw Predator with his camouflage activated in a tree

Friend and I were driving through some windy sections in Adelaide Hills in the 90s.
It was afternoon and it was sunny.
We came around a bend and was met by some thing that made us both flinch. I was driving and swerved to avoid what we both described as a see-thru block of "something", like a cube with solid edges floating at bonnet height that you could see through. Nothing there but looked like we were about to hit it. So strange. There was no way to U-turn back easily and saw nothing in rearview mirror but we both had the same reaction, kinda bracing for impact that never happened.

I saw a shadow cross the road just outside my headlight beam about 3 times on Burwood road, Whitebridge in the middle of the night.
It was probably just some animal or a shadow caused by a light but it still looked strange.
I used that road in the middle of the night often and only saw it 3 times.

As you left our local drive-in your headlights would sweep across the swamp where there was a burnt out tree stump that looked remarkably like a figure standing there.

Story goes a young guy had taken his girlfriend to the drive-ins in his panel van and when her father found out thats where he buried him...

It was actually my girlfriend at the times father that told me the story, needless to say she arrived home still a virgin that night

Might have been old man Forgacs who lived a long life on Burwood Rd.

Good thread especially after watching the movie Mary last night. (Netflix) Look it up.

And that’s your prerogative, your entitled to it.
You may not believe in ghosts and there are those that do.
My self, I do believe in them. How else can you explain this situation.
My daughter, 4 years old at the time, told me not to go near the coffee table because the old lady dropped her glass and broke the table. It was a glass top side table at the time and my grandmother did drop her cup of tea breaking the table.
This happen 7 years before my daughter was born. I hadn’t met my wife then and she had no idea what my daughter was talking about. My grandmother passed 6 months before she was born.
It’s all to coincidental, there’s no way in the world my wife or daughter could’ve possible know about this.

As for the road in question, I did travel that road some time during the very early morning 26 years ago but can’t say I saw anything unusual. I remember this because we stayed at my brother in-laws when my daughter was first born and wouldn’t sleep. We went for a drive to put her to sleep so as not to keep the others awake.

Way back in 1995 I went to Minto to visit my Brother, he owned a Jims Mowing Franchise that encompassed an area from Liverpool to south of Campbeltown.
One afternoon we were mowing the unit on the corner of Cinnabar and Cornelia st.
After completing the job we drove up Cinnabar and stopped at one of the houses. My Brother says do you know who lived there.
I said no, should I.
Ivan Milat he said.
Who's Ivan Milat I said obviously oblivious to what had occured in the decade prior as a 19yr old who cared little for the nightly news.
He told me the story and it ignited an interest in Australian crime stories.

I finally got an opportunity to visit Belanglo on a trip to Taren Point in 2016 and wanted to visit the memorial.
Driving in there in my BF wagon loaded to the hilt with my Wife, inlaws and 5yr old plus luggage I turned on to the undulating track that leads to the memorial, cleared the first dip or 2 and suddenly found ourselves bottomed out on the crest of the next unable to move without tearing up the underside.
It was the middle of the day but I swear to God I have never felt more terrified than I did in that moment. We all looked at each other and said lets get the hell out of here and that we did.

I read somewhere years ago that the southern section of Razorback / rememberance drive at Picton is one of the most haunted roads.
I think theres a ghost of a woman on the central coast somewhere, Noraville? where many police reports have been made about the young girl hitchhiking
And motorbike riders have usually heard of the ghost rider near newcastle

Min-Min lights, driving from the Three Ways east to Camooweal middle of the night, they tracked me for hours, I stop, they stop, about 100 metres to my right, hours and hours of it.
Tried to take a photo but it was an inky black night and just looked like a pair of car headlights, without the glare!
Not scary but I knew what they were!
