Thumbs up Fiesta Turbo Diesel Late 2009

My Fez was in being serviced today. I had a look at the new model. Not bad !
The sales guy said 'the turbo diesel engine will be available towards the end of the year ' "with the 43l tank it will have a range of 1200kms and the emissions will be less than a Prius" I am guessing this is the new diesel engine from FORD/PEUGOT ??

true zetec, it may not have the numbers people usually look at (KW's) even though i'm sure KW figure will be dedcent in the fez considering it's weight. But it's all bout' the Torque with diesesels. mmmmmmm tasty torque......... i miss my pug 306 diesel :

Mated to a car that uses 15 inch wheels (with special covers) that are very narrow and have a low rolling resistance, I'd rather have the 1.6 TDCi in a Zetec-alike model, with big wheels, a body kit etc. If you change your wheels on this Econetic model, the fuel consumption blows out far from the claimed figure.

True - the 1.6 TDCi is normally available across the range in Europe.

But credit where credit's due, it'll be a dirt cheap, i30 diesel-busting eco car that is still 5 star safe, funky designed, fun to drive on standard sport suspension and NOT a hybrid.
