Default air con vents

hello i have an 02 focus and when the air con is put on full speed it closes the air con face vents flow dial to the half way position ( it wont stay completly open ) is this a common prob and is there a quick/easy fix for it?

mine does the same, after punching it a few times i broke the face and removed it,
now i no longer have that problem

But honestly I have no idea how to fix it, I would ask ford dealer not to fix it ask them HOW to fix it - my local the mechanics answer all kinds of q's like that for me

I had the same issue on my Focus. Got all my vents replaced under warranty and guess what. Same thing happened after a little while. I just got use to it and left the fan speed on 3 not 4. Sorry I don't have a fix for it
