Default Anyone remember Dr Pepper?

Anyone remember the original medicine drink? They stopped making and selling it here in Australia in the early to mid 2000s I think, I really loved the stuff, which it seems like its only a hand full that do.

You can buy the imported stuff from Costco, but its nothing like the one we used to have here, unfortunately they use HFCS instead of good ol' cane sugar like we used in our version (and all of our soft drinks bottled here in Australia), the HFCS version is crap, its also about $30 for a slab of 24, poor value.

Anyways, there was a company making the real stuff over in the USA and they've stopped producing it because of a law suit against them by another company bottling the crappy HFCS version I talked about earlier on.

USA Foods is running out their last slabs of Dr Pepper Dublin, the cane sugar versions for $15 a slab of 24, I just recieved my 10 slabs today, I got it for like $13 each slab It was only $26 for express shipping too, win!

Here is the link if you love the stuff like me (Maybe I'm the only one):

http://www.usafoods.com.au/SPECIALS/...-No-Corn-Syrup

They stopped producing it in January this year, so if you liked it back in the day, get some before its all gone.

I'm a big Dr Pepper fan too, lived off it in high school.

Allot of Asian supermarkets and the like sell it, would that be the HFCS version? Comes in 350ml cans I think.

Tastes alright to me.

Can sometimes be found in the local IGA as well as cherry coke. Being from the UK where is available everywhere I have never noticed any difference in the taste. Might have to grab some of this cane sugar stuff.
I love going to the states for this kinda of thing. Dr Pepper and Lucky Charms

I'm a bit of a fan of the Dr. Pepper, not afraid to admit that lol

You can buy slabs of it, delivered to your doorstep from here: http://www.usafoods.com.au/ (as stated in the first post which I didn't read fully )

It can also be found at the Reject shop and many of the Asian grocery stores in Melbourne (not helpful if you can't visit Melbourne unfortunately)

Yeah thats the HFCS version, the cane sugar one has Dublin Dr Pepper on the can, and a bio of someone called Bill Kloster on the back.

Its still alright, but I find its not as sweet as the cane sugar one, and if I have more than one can of it in a short period I feel sick.

A lot of independently owned convenient stores sell it along with the cherry flavour.

Useless info. Dr Pepper is one year older than Coca-Cola. Not sure of the year. Google if you really need to know

I had this once. It was very misleading. It doesn't taste like pepper and nor could I successfully perform medical procedures after I had some.

I don't know what people mean by not being available in Australia anymore, I'm seeing more stores that sell Dr. Pepper than ever.

One of my nearest BP servos sell it. Coles Capalaba have UK-sourced Dr Pepper cans and are hidden away from the beverage section. The British cans are a little different to the American version I get from the BP servo.

One of my mates at school used to drink a Dr Pepper every morning before class. Yuck.

I saw them the other day at Woolies, in like the 'foreign food' section (near the weird *** tea and biscuits from the UK).

Coles Mt. Gravatt sells it too.

Also if you can find one of those shops that import lollies and sweets from NZ, USA and UK they generally have it stocked too.

I miss the 600ml bottles though, used to smash through 10 a week when they had the find the free one under the lid. Buy one and be set for the next 10.
