You're eating "modified" manure/wastes every time you eat your steak & roast vegies. Think about that next time the gravy is dribbling down your chin at the dinner table ;) ;)

Bon apetit! :monkes:
Thank goodness I wasn't eating any sort of meat or vegies when I read that...

There are times that I think that we (here in Wagga) are already drinking sewage.
A lot of our water comes from the Murrumbidgee river which starts near Canberra! ..... nuff said

fordfuntastic. Do you have an attention problem? Are you worried that unless you use kindergarden letters and colours no one will notice you? Bad form !

Maybe ...I do like my bourbon....however with regard to part of my sig....my dogs have never let me down..they never lie...they always give me total love and devotion...they're always glad to see me...they always come and sit with me and share my bed...and never talk back..and will always listen and offer a paw and a lick.

In other words it is trust...how many ppl do you trust with your innermost thoughts and feelings.

In short ppl will always let you down...dogs wont!!!!!!

Nice links.

Link 1) Blatant misinformation. "Dumping sewage into our drinking water", what a load of crap! (no pun). PLEASE read at least *one* of my posts, which states that our drinking water is indeed TREATED prior to human consumption to remove any preexisting nasties in it

Link 2) And what's this got to do with this thread's topic?

Link 3) That's nice Want a cookie? (Refer to Link 2 note)

Could you extract yourself from this thread? It's one thing to protest against drinking potable drinking water fit for human consumption which originates from wastewater, but your reasoning, or lack of, and your rantings ("What havin DOGs as a friend or methanoline? UNBELIEVABLE......who wants sewage blending? Only a crazy person.... extract from petition"), are not helping your argument here.

Thats what the thread is about! Slightly advanced arnt you? HELL are you for real
Based on the above quote, I have belatedly come to the conclusion that you are incapable of understanding the topic at hand.

Many contaminants, such as man-made chemicals and heavy metals, can be dangerous—but depending on the quality desired, some are removed to improve the water's smell, taste, and appearance. There really is no such thing as pure water. As the universal solvent, the moment that purified water is exposed to the environment it interacts, even with carbon dioxide in the air. Water purification therefore is a process describing the treatments employed to meet the objectives of the user.
Read it and for god's sake try and educate yourself in the ways of water treatment.

Guys, posts will be deleted now if they sway too far off topic or start pointless arguments with other users. The last few pages have been good examples by a select few

Very Good Ghia5L

Ok , this is what you're drinking now :-

Farmer has 2 paddocks

Paddock 1/ has sheep/horses/cattle etc .You have manure/fertaliser/sprays, animals rolling on the ground , and tractors driving across it (deisel, oil etc)
Paddock 2/ has a crop . You have Sprays , Superphosphate & other chemicals
etc.

Then you have rain (sometimes) , water runs off paddocks into creeks , animals drink from these creeks & walk through them etc.

Towns have sewerage treatment works , which flow into creeks after being treated .

Creeks run into rivers which are Damed

People holiday at these dams & Swim (doing who knows what), go Fishing , Ski behind "fueled" power boats . ( Oh pollution)

Water is taken from those dams & put through "treatment works" piped to your home --- Hey Presto , beautiful drinking water ? ?

Soooo , what will be the difference ... the "effluent" will be treated in a much more advanced way than it is now (as shown in previous posts) piped to your home and "you won't know the difference"

And Yes . I'd drink it

Interesting debate this one. Many of us in Australia already drink recycled sewage, just that they haven't told you about it. Sydney's original 19th century dams were in protected catchments. When Warragamba was built it collected water from rural runoffs almost all the way to the ACT plus sewage and urban runoff from Goulburn, Lithgow, Blue Mtns towns. Supply also contaminated by air pollution in Sydney which has led to Prospect being taken off line. But they still haven't roofed Potts Hill as far as I know. When I was on a Water Board committee years ago they served spring water at meetings. They wouldn't drink their own stuff - then the giardia etc. thing came along.

Maybe there's somewhere in Australia with pure water but the reality is most of us have been drinking treated stuff for years. We have a filter on the drinking water at home and use bottled elsewhere. Washing the dishes, doing the laundry, showering and watering the garden with recycled stuff probably isn't going to concern too many people. Its a dry continent. Get a water filter if it worries you.

It's not like you're going to have a floater in your next glass of water or anything.
Do you really think they would let us drink it if it was not properly treated?

Cheers
