It's all getting too rediculous.
I'd buy a Boss 429 Mustang, 1963 1/2 427 4 speed Galaxie, Ford GT (US), 40th anniversary BF GT, and still have change. LOL.

HAha i like your thinking but i have to agree with you. You can have so many toys to play around in rather then sticking to one.

Its in the Boyne Island area.

The guys that are working on my car did the engine rebuild on it.

It used to be black and they were going to put a 408 in it, until they found out what it was.

The guy paid under $20,000 for it as well!

but i spose the point is that if you've already got all of those cars, and you've still got a few mil burning a whole in your pocket, the first ever gtho might be a nice addition to the collection.
the reason why the price is going so high is that rich people keep buying them at record prices. no point us complaining

Damn, 750k for a Phase 1, when I was a young bloke centuries ago we use to take a Phase 1 to Bourke and Brewarrina Pig Shooting, it had a 351 Windsor and made a great bush basher.

Its enough to make you cry.

IMO its not a 750K proposition, to me being the 1st or last HO made makes no difference. Phase 1's seem to sell for 120 - 170k tops. They're not a bathurst winner.

big deal.
a HO is a HO IMHO.
sure, some 'phases' are worth more than others, but if the 'bathurst win' criteria means that much, then a phase 4 must be worth less than a phase 1 ( ), coz at least the phase 1 actually lead the race for a while...

Oh really???
You need a history lesson if you dont understand the connection between winning Bathurst and their value then.... 1971 was the last year of true production car Bathurst.
If it was no big deal then all Phases would be worth the same right??

As for the one and only phase 4's value, well its pretty obvious why that car would bring a premium..

Holy, I live in Tannum Sands and I think I might have seen s car that looks like this before, In fact it looks like one that I see driving around regularly. I figured it must have just been a GT. Out of curiosity, how many guys on the forum live around the Tannum Boyne area?

i think u need to READ what i wrote again.
i'm not disputing that a phase 3 is worth more than a phase 2, and both are worth more than a phase 1.
i was commenting on what you are illuding too, in that a bathurst win is the be all and end all.
if that was so, then wouldnt an XRGT, phase 2, phase 3 and an XAGT be worth the same high price, while an XTGT, phase 1 and XBGT worth the same lower price??

of course i know that a phase 4 would sell for more than any of them, but again, if a 'bathurst win' criteria was all that mattered, wouldnt it be the lowset price GT of all, seeing as it never even went there??

basicly, all im saying is that a victory at the mountain defintly isnt the thing that is most important.

Im in Gladststone.

And 4VMAN, i dont think many would agree with you that the first GTHO isnt worth more than the 421 st GTHO.

For once i agree with 4Vman. The P1 is the least desirable HO out there. VERY little difference between P1 and a GT. They are virtually a standard GT.

You can buy the best of the best P3's all day long at that rediculous amount of money, and the cars are in totally different leagues.
