Default Different ECU's

Quick questions..

Now there's 4 different 5.0's in the AU's
175kw, 185kw, 200kw, 220kw..

What i want to know is, was there any difference in ECU's between them..?

I have read that the 220's had a re-mapped ecu, but i haven't heard anything about the others...

Could a S1 185kw ECU run a series 2 200kw engine fine in a series 1 car...?

Any help appreciated..

Kris

Thumbs up

Great question, don't reckon it's been asked before!

You are right though Kris, someone will have the answer.

We have the individual ECU identification numbers listed in the Technical Resources area and as you will see there are plenty of them even for the V8.

Cheers

I have reads/bin files of them all.

220kw was a near completely different tune, both fuel and spark completely remapped vs 185kw version.

As far as the others are concerned the 175,185,200 are all the same tune basically. Some minor changes like rev limit etc. But thats about all i can see.

As for S1 and S2S3 etc with the different injectors, they didn't even change the injector size in the eec on them, the only one that has it updated is the 220kw tunes which is set at 21/22lb over the original 19lb setting all the others have set, if you follow the the pressure vs size, it seems they changed it for the increased fuel pressure rather than injector size.

The engine management will lean the difference between the injector size as it does. so its not an over all big deal.

I personally am currently running the 220kw ts50 strategy on my car, it gives me adaptive shift, and actually tunes slightly differently to what the earlier versions are, i cant remember completely but one is tuned via manifold filling the other isn't. Which more comes in with hi ratio gears.

If you want pm me your email address and i can email you the spark/fuel maps of both and the wot settings.
