The ones on the 48 215 Holden (FX), especially when you see them on some old blokes rickety old wooden box trailer. If only he knew what they're worth.

Best would be super cheap auto Hunters lol. Or the EL sapphire caps then maybe tufcaps.

Worst would be the au s1 with the tear drop and tri spoke arrangement.

Australian cars can't hold a candle to the Yanks for the best and worst hubcaps. Most American cars of the sixties had some great hubcaps .. Some real works of art .. I love the complexity of the '66 Dodge Charger "spinner" cap .. Also used on the Aussie '66 Phoenix .. And the elegant simplicity of the Mopar cop-car cap (dog dish one). Conversely almost every American car with hubcaps from the eighties onwards was butt ugly ..

I like the P5 LTD not the first turbo type but the second ones.
Some F100 XLT and the 1971-3 LTD hub caps are nice to and i think they are the same thing.

As for holden the HG Premier hub caps would have to be the best.
Just think what they would cost if made new now days ?

3rd vote for XR GT hub caps (or wheel covers as they are now known)

I am also a fan of the Holden interceptors (ie just the small centre hub cap). The Ford ones look too pointy and long.

We always tease my sister in law about her hate of the XA Fairmont hub caps. She absolutley hates them. These babies: http://www.fordforums.com.au/photos/...o.php?photo=71

I had a set of VL hubcaps on my HT Kingswood, and they gave the car a sense of style and sophistication otherwise lacking on the HT line up.

They were only on the rears. Front had standard, not sure if they were originals.

It was something, that's for sure. My first and only Holden too.

1. XW-Y GS Hubcap (same as XR-T GT hubcap? If so, 4th vote for those).
2. ZC Fairlane Hubcap
3. XW Fairmont Hubcap
4. XY Fairmont Hubcap
5. XA Fairmont Hubcap.

I just like these, from this era of Aussie Fords. The US did some grand ones in their prime as well, works of art.
