Default PICS Grechie's New RWKW Record ! PICS

hey guys,

After pulling 14.433 1/4 mile in october at calder park with the e series group (thanks to ian), I didnt no how much it had at the rears (old power 146rwkw), after the dyno on geelong with heljas and the gang , i pulled a 155.6 rwkw , with still my Wade 1636 + Standard head (onli high comp) and standard timing... just want to say thank to jason (heljas) for organising a hassel free day, you rock !

Pics:

Chris the owner of the dyno, said my a/f was pretty much perfect , a A/F ratio of 13.0 for a N/A i6 he said is spot on, im wrapped.

- Grechie

Chris the operator told me, that below 13 is running rich, and above 13 is running lean,, and that would be about right, coz heaps of black smoke came out of ur exhaust as it was revving out, infact it painted the back wall... so chiptorque , WHAT HAVE YOU DONE !, still very nice power man for the probs u have ... Well done!!!

but mine blows MASSIVE amounts of smoke at idle. which kinda contradicts the lean red out low in the rev range.....
im lost....im sending the chip off tomoz. they have agreed to a re-tune free of charge. hopefully have it back by friday arvo. then i'll make a booking at Dalton to get another run.

crazy stuff Grechie, still cant understand how your car pulls that many kw's at the treads, with only a wade 1636 you must have one freak car there, just a question how did you get your head to a higher comp? and also whats with the date on the dyno sheet it says 1997

hey i just noticed it said 1997, wtf! but so does Ghia5L's and Mr 4.0L's too, so it isnt a old dyno reading trust me hehe...

the head came with "high comp" , thats all we know, and it has no head porting or anything, just shaved, and the bottom end has ACL race pistons.

Where are you pulling the AFR's from? I take it it's the bottom line, but i cant see any numbers that correspond with 13? Bit of help?

Great work though Gretchie, your engine is obviously saying thanks for that rebuild

Mr 4.0, the black smoke when stabbing it from idle could be more of a timing issue, so despite the fact that it runs lean under normal throttle, having the timing out (retarded rather than advanced?) would cause slight hesitation and then *BLURGH* (puff of black smoke).

Nah, that's tractive effort, not torque.

Kinda displays torque though ..

*now* I know the correct term! Thanks mate

I spose it's only in Newtons, not Newton Metres. And 3800N (what the upper graph indicates) does not mean 3800NM lol

good effort there mate but i dont think there was much power lost even though it was a hot day the most power lost wouldve been from the 2 turbo cars of the day and we know they didnt lose much at all as xrenvy got 333rwkw and his best was 338 and a stock ba turbo got 210rwkw so shows me that the heat didnt really effect it.
cheers josh.

BP = barometric pressure
RH = Relitave Humidity
AT = Ambient temp
IT = Intake probe temp. (IT significantly higher than AT is the usualy way to fudge dyno figures up)
RR = Dyno ramp rate programme

i wouldn't say 8 degrees higher temp is excessive.

just 3.45:1 dif gears,, which wouldnt up my power, BUT, my last dyno was at about 3,000kays, so i think the motor was still tight, now its at bout 20,000kays so i think its loosened up a bit and is now performing proply.
