Default Aussie Knight Rider.

Was doing a bit of websurfing today & found the following link to a guy in Melbourne that has made his very own rhd replica of K.I.T.T. from the 80's cult Knightrider series.
A few vids follow
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Gy9tVRmIy4
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Mjs4rmiye8

Have anyone seen this car doing the rounds at carshows?? Looks like the car has been around for a bit.

One of the digital channels is showing knight rider and i still watch it sometimes.
One of my favourite shows as a kid!
I still love the shows intro music...

There are quite a few replica movie cars in this country hidden away.
Those that are noteworthy:
Several madmax cars (one of which is mine)
Back to the Future Delorean
Starsky and Hutch Grand Torino
Dukes of Hazzards Chargers
A ECTO one replica in the works

Ahh, but does the roof come off and does it have Super Pursuit mods?

Yeh 7mate is showing it, Bloody expensive to buy on DVD!

I rememebr watching on the news a while back that one of the KITT's was for sale at an american car yard and the dealer just could not sell it, even at a bargain price.

I also saw in Dick Smith Electronics that red flashing stobe bar KITT had at the front (Scanner) which was easy to make and install and quite cheap, I thought about it and might go back and see if they still sell it.

I think kit was before my time but does anyone remember a show with a dodge viper? I keep having flash backs when topics like this come up but I can't for the life of me remember the name if the show.

Hang on.. back to Dick smith not selling electrical components - FOR REAL!? spose it goes to show how long I been to a Dick Smiths.

Nice one FPVwannabe! - I might have to purchase a scanner - On my XR front bar There is a slit on either side of the Ford badge PERFECT for a K.I.T.T. scanner. I just gotta make sure the cops dont see it other wise ill have red AND blue lights flashing in my rear vision mirror!

Anyway, This guy has done a pretty good job at replicating the car for sure!
Does anyone have or can find a pic of that Pontiac(?) interior?
Can you imagine being the pasenger in a crash!! there goes your stomach!

sadly I have done research into this and as has been touched on it is illegal to have red lights forward facing on your car, I heard it is due to the fact that it (the red light) will confuse other motorists as they will not be able to tell if they are looking at the front or the rear of the car

Yeah, those pesky drivers that think a car would be following them in reverse??? lol

The story i got from the cops was motorists may confuse me for a police vehicle!

Yeh they have a leading cop on the radio once a week and he says red and blue lights are ours (Cops) including the neon lights under cars, the tiny windscreen wiper LEDs and the coloured LED parking lights, So i can imagine they wont be happy with a flashing red light at the front of a car.

AussieMuscle- thats pretty cool!
Got any shots of the interior? I wanna see what they look like with out all the KITT gear.

Only a standard interior, no kitt gear. it was too much trouble, so i sold the car. (was only a v6 anyway). It might be still listed in 'project cars' sub.
