Lo all

Looking at starting a new project, I have been tossing some ideas around for some different configurations for an XD ute.

I am aiming to build it up so it can break the world record for the most consecutive donuts ever done by a car.

Only problem is, I dunno what the record is. Does anyone else?

Looks like the front inside wheel needs to be stationary and steering wheel straight, otherwise its classed as a drift which is taken by 2010 Mustang GT.

Isn't it truth that you need some sort of anti-g suit, as the G's can cause you to pass out after 20 or so spins? Or something like that?

What you need to do is this; mount solid rubber tyres on rear of car, disconnect rear brakes, remove all the interior and any protruding leftover cabin bits inside of grunty ford V8, mount a swivel chair as centrally as you can in the occupant space of vehicle, connect fly by wire throttle, steering and braking controls to swivel chair.

this is sounding more fun by the minute where might you be atempting the stunt of yours, i have done shitloads of continuous doenuts in mud pits an it gets rather boring after the first tank of fuel good luckk mate hahaha

Dunno where I"ll be doin it yet, but the car (if I get around to building it) will be off the chart, first one of its kind.

I shouldn't have any troubles getting a time slot at Powercruise to make the attempt in front of a crowd.

I think the hardest bit will be keeping the tyres from not poping before ya get to 82 donuts...
I would say you would need a very hard tyre or even better a soild tyre that will never pop...

Always wondered how dual rear tyres (duallie style) would go with maybe the outers being a smidge bigger in diameter.

If you did other things that were kinder on the tyres (handbrake locks calliper on front left wheel) or spraying water over the right rear wheels to encourage less grip or to prolong tyre life that might help.

I was thinking about using a windscreen washer motor to spray water or diesel onto the rear wheels but don't know if that would be allowed for a record attempt. Would make a rockin burnout car tho.

The car in this video was the previous record holder at 64 spins. He has since done 112 but was only at a demostration show at archerfield speedway in brisbane so the judges weren't there.. I used to work on the car when i was living in brisbane, it runs a 3.8 VN commodore V6 in it. For the full video you'd have to buy the Grunt files DVD.
