Hi, I have a somewhat-dumb question - looking at the engine diagrams in the manual handbook, it looks to me like the 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre diagrams have been switched around. Is this a known issue that everyone already knows about?
Either that, or someone's transplanted a 1.4-litre engine into my manual Zetec! One of the practical differences, is the location of the oil dipstick. According to the manual handbook, in the 1.6-litre engine the dipstick should be right next to the engine oil filler cap, whereas the 1.4-litre engine has the dipstick about 30-40cms away, toward the front of the car. On mine, the dipstick location matches the latter. Am I being stupid? |

No your correct, just looking at it now, the piping for the air intake is wrong too. Must be switched around. Do you have the WS or WT? Maybe it was fixed for the WT

Cool, thanks for the reply. I was worried it was just me, and even had a crazy thought that perhaps I had somehow been given a 1.4-litre Zetec manual.
Mine's a WS series. |

Don't worry: the diagram is wrong. Mmm, Ford quality control at it's finest...

It's either wrong or Ford AU sold us all 1.4 litres (Which I wouldn't be all that surprised about)
