Default AUII acceleration power loss

Hey guys , wondering if anybody has had this problem and might be able to help ??
When i put my foot down from a standing start the car picks up then has a huge flat spot then picks up then flat spot again ??
it doesnt accelerate well at all and keeps getting flat spots, i have changed plugs..
The car idle's okay it just doesnt like being pushed from low revs when i am cruising above 80k and put my foot down it really goes ...
What could it be ??

thanks :

Judging by your user name, i guess you have an AUII Futura 4 litre.
as chalkys said, could be alot of things.
Is it a flat spot or more like a misfire ?
And is it easy to push to redline ? or it doesnt want anymore over say 4500rpm ?

But you could check the usuals, MAP sensor, Oxy Sensor, Coolant Temp Sensor.

Well i think it seems to be more of a miss fire!!! its a standard 01 futura 4.0l
It revs all the way up to redline but keeps cutting out all the way up there ?????
could it be the coil pack or would it just be a map sensor
thanks
