Default Advice needed: Central locking Bug.

Tonight when I went to unlock the ute via the remote, the left door actuator pulsed 3 times and I was unable to open the door from the outside. Then when I got home, I went to lock the car and both actuators (right and left) pulsed 3 times, the doors didn't lock and the horn sounded 3 quick beeps. I can lock the driver door with my key, but the passenger door remains unlocked. What could be the problem? And I haven't changed/replaced anything.
BTW, it's series1 AU XR6 ute

Sounds like the actuator itself playing up and the 3 beeps are because one of the doors is not registering as closed properl , the bad news is the door latch and actuator are one unit. $50 2nd hand or around $100 new. There may be other experiences but thats what it was with my sons car.

Thanks for the information. Looks like I'll be spending some cash on Monday.

Just happened to mine a few months ago.
Part no's are:
BAF F21813 A LOCK ASY FRT DOOR $135
BAF 14A584 A WIRE DR LOCK JUMPER $11.18 (Loom)

You need the loom as well if you buy a new one as it has been superceded by a BF part, so the wires dont match up.

Is it a simple operation of swapping the old with the new?

Yep. Take off the door trim, undo the bars from the locking assembly, unscrew it, put the new one in.

My first call was going to be some wreckers and Ford only as a desperate act.
