I was looking for some old uni files from a few years ago on my computer today and I stumbled across my Maximum Torque/E-Series Lite pdf magazines. It was a good trip down memory lane.
Anyway, for the newer members of this site, you may be interested in viewing the links within this url, where some of these files can be downloaded: http://www.deleted link/portal/kb.php?mode=article&k=32 The September '03 edition is particularly interesting regarding the ETs of the top 5 E-Series cars of the time. The ETs were: 5th 15.6 4th 15.5 3rd 15.0 2nd 14.8 1st 14.78 All cars were atmo sixes. Today's top 5 top 5 atmo times are: 5th 13.92 (I6) 4th 13.86 (I6) 3rd 13.82 (I6) 2nd 13.79 (V8) 1st 13.21 (V8) We've come a long way since 2003. All in the 13s! I can still remember when quikcorty's 14.78 and STOKEB's 14.8 were big news back in 2003... There are various interviews with past members who have moved up in the E-series ranks or moved on, details on past events (they've changed a lot now, some of the change is for the better, some is not...), and I guess generally an insight into the psyche of the club as a whole back in 2003. I first joined the club in the Fordforums.com days, when it was the EA-ED club. There were lots of changes up to that point, ford.i8.com was the old host site (I think? That was before my time though) and the club was originally for EA owners. Then the EF-EL club was merged with the EA-ED club to form the present club we have now. Since the ff.com days, the club has grown almost exponentially to where it is today, growing with ff.au. With the growth there has been growth in post and thread numbers, both good and bad, and a massive wealth of peripheral information such as cruises/events with non-E-Series organisers such as VSS, AFD, fundraiser cruises, etc. So look back to where we've come from, what some of the visions and goals were back then, which ones have been achieved, and which ones are still out of reach. See where some of the older members started out and where they have gotten to from there. Some of the older members may like to take another look at these great reads, like I did today through chance. I enjoyed every minute of it. I guess I'll read them again in 6 months when looking for something else that I've lost somewhere within the computer... -Dave- PS: Finally a big thanks to Zantetsuken for all his effort in publishing these files back then. |

Jase you're currently 45th in the atmo department, or 30th amongst the sixes :P
Niko - yes Hus has come a long way, and still has further to go! That 14.8 was prior to n2o, and has ran a 13.92 without the gas since. [EDIT] Thanks Dan |

Great read Dave. I enjoyed reading that.
Nice work bringing up the old magazines aswell. I wasn't in the club at that stage, and it's great to read about the happenings within the club before I joined up.

Good find Dave, interesting reading back on some of the stuf the club was doing back then, and a few pics of Johns 'highly modified' EF. ;)
Were there more issues of the magazine than just the ones on the link? Jason, have a look at this thread - http://www.fordforums.com.au/showthr...2&goto=newpost [edit] - Dan beat me to it :P

Aaron I've got editions from Dec '02 to Nov '03 mate. I'd be happy to email the "missing" editions to someone to upload on www.deleted link.
To others reading the thread: I won't be emailing them individually, I'm on dialup. [EDIT] Jase, the bill's in the mail regarding convincing your Mrs ;) |

Jeez I remember the good old ford.i8 days, I was about 14, probably the youngest member. We only had two forums as well, none of it was split up, it was so much more exciting back in those days lol
