Default Power steering rack problems

Hey guys

I posted before about a previous problem, alternator got bunged by leaking power steering oil.

Now I knew there was something up with the rack so I took it to my mechanic and asked him to have a look at whats wrong, he said it was a washer and he fixed that up, leaking stopped for a few weeks

But now its leaking all over again and its a high volume leak too.

Now I'm not happy with my mechanic, so I have two humble queries

I'm going to go looking around for mechanics, I know this is a bit of a vague question but how much should I be looking at for servicing the rack?

I don't want to get overcharged

Second query, if anyone knows any good ford mechanics in Sydney around the Ryde area, I would appreciate that too

thanks in advance

Mun

it'll probably be the power steering preasure switch...located neer the seeering joint on the rack on the drivers side..

i just had to get the one on my fairlane changed because it was leaking..

the unit itself cost 20 and i was charged 35 to fit it and top up the fluid......so not too bad really
its fairly easy to fit yourself but ive hurt my back and cant get under the car to do that atm

300-500 for a second hand or reco rack.Personally get a second hand one as my reco rack cost a packet and is not very good at all.
