What parts of the loom do you need to remove? Most (if not all) speedway classes in Australia use a carby rather than EFI.
The brake light/headlight/heater/radio etc etc looms won't effect how the car will run. You could follow the ECU loom to the engine bay and just keep that one in, if it's attached to the motor, there's a fair chance it's part of the ECU loom. Does the car have the dash in it still? If it does, I'd mount the ECU to a flat piece of steel replacing the glovebox, or if it doesn't have a dash, make a small stand up and mount the ECU to the firewall.

: I have removed everything that does't appear to be attached to the computer, but a mate suggested that i keep the speedo cluster to keep an eye on oil press and temp, but not sure. the last EFI car i helped buld up was a commodore, : , and ended up having to wire the speedo back up as it has a rev limitor.
i just worried i will run into the same problems with this one. as the CPI and the Distributor are all electronic. |
