Hey all!
Has anyone had a problem with their engine making a knocking noise due to the crank slapping the oil inthe sump???? My car doesnt do it until it gets to running tempreture also if the car is parked on a slope then it doesnt do it as often or as loud but a couple of people that i know mechanics and back yard mechanics think that is the problem! Im very interested to find out if any one else has had this problem and how the fixed it if you can! Cheers all! : |

If your crank is "slapping" the oil in the sump the oil level is too high.
If it is too high it will cause foaming and possibly the oil pump will be less efficient due to cavitation. That may mean a whole range of serious issues due to the oil not getting to where it should. Check your dipstick. If stll unsure drain the oil and refill to recommended quantity. |
