I used to have 16in XR8 rims on my car, and it was waaay too low. Had to climb out of the thing when you were getting out. Theres a few nice big scars along the bottom of the chassis rails from them impacting with various parts of Melbourne.

Running taller wheels is the way to go... still looks low but without all the dramas.

Mine has improved with the addition of 17's (scraped quite often on 15's) so the slight difference in wheel size helps.
I can no longer take a short cut to work so now it takes me 5 mins to get there instead of 2.
Would be keen to see some of your pics Krys. Everyone i know that's been to Tas absolutely loves it, some even want to move there..

I wish I could go lower, but my car *almost* scrapes on my driveway and most driveways around here with standard suspension :( I think Knox was designed to be tackled in a 4x4 only. Afterall, they've got to get a bit of a workout somehere, right?

Living in the hills is a bitch sometimes...

Scraped it a few times, usually coming in or out of a carpark, fastfood or speed hump. With a front 'bar and a towbar, it protects it a little by making it slightly worse

I'm of the train of thought that if you bottom out or scrape frequently, it needs to be higher :P

I'm up a fair bit past Ferntree Gully, where every driveway is on a 45 degree angle. I had a XF Fairmont that was lowered with a full Pedders suspension kit, sway bars and all, and it used to scrape on everything. And it wasn't that low, probably equivelent of "low" king springs... Reversing out of my driveway was fun in that, especially with a few people in the back... and gravel, reversing uphill, eek!

A mate of mine lives further up past Olinda and all that, driveway literally is a 45 degree angle. Used to be gravel back a few years ago, dad had a SS Commodore (Don't worry, he's a ford man at heart), simply could not get up. Gearing meant it was either not enough torque to pull up the hill, or way to much, going backwards with wheelspin.

Note to self: move further into the city.
