Default An interesting discussion

I have just got back from putting my youngest on a bus to the big smoke.

Had an interesting chat with the bus driver once he got off the bus to put the baggage aboard.

He admired 'The Sprint' and told me he had owned one before but only got three drives as it was written off whilst parked.

He then claimed there were 500 Sprints and that they were imported all over the world. I did mention that the figure he gave me was a tad inflated but bit my tongue from stating anything further( He was, after all, driving the bus with my son on it) He then proceeded to tell me that all 500 of them came out with a 'split tyre' a bit like two bike tyres joined together on 'that same rim you have there' ........ :

Made me wonder how many others have been told absolute rot about their cars or cars that they know are rarer than most & have a definate traceable history such as the Sprint or say a GT ??????????

What he said it true.

In his little 'make believe land' he lives in!!

There are dreamers and wannabes everywhere. I ignore them.

Sounds like a bloke at one of the bottleshops here.

Tells me everytime I go in there that my XR8 is a Sprint, regardless of it being a '91 EB.
Then goes on to tell me about the "factory" twin turbo Sprint his mate in Sydney owns, "which is 1 of 35 built by Ford for selected customers".

I just nod and smile politely, must remember to ask him what he's smoking next time I'm in there

As stupid as it sounds, I think I have seen a picture of a car, possibly even a Falcon with tyres matching that description floating around the forums a while back...

I heard from someone that owned one, that there was a very rare EB XR8 Sprint. When I said I had never heard of them he said it was because they were so rare. Whatever makes you sleep at night after spending 18k on a car with a value of 5k

This is what the bus driver was probably talking about.

I also have seen a EA Convertible made by Recaro.

Theres some great info there guys

My main concern was that he was talking about the Sprint. After discussions here with my father and reading the above info we have come to the conclusion that he is a Ford fan who knows about rare things but has added all of the rare things into one car ........

Is great that we have such access to the info about the rare vehicles as can be seen here. (That was part of my motive in starting this thread.)
