Hi people,
How free flowing is the XR6 VCTs exhaust? Reason I ask is am I wasting my money just throwing extractors into the equation? I actually enjoy the standard systems note, and I figure the most restrictive section is from the cat forwards. Cheers |

there are decent gains to be had with both the extractors and a decent system ( like redback) . these are 2 mods that compliment each other nicely

Hi mate, thanks for that. Do you know how free flowing the standard exhaust is thought being a 'sports system' or whatever Ford called it?

have no figures on back pressure but i noticed when pulling my old one off there was a bit of a bottle neck around the cat area (fairly narrow)..........looked fairly crap too me , the old system looked much sportier in the scrap metal bin

Thanks guys. I'll fit the extractors, see how she feels and go from there. Now back to reading all the debate between streetfighters and 4480s....

These Twin exhausts are a little more clever than you think the two pipes and mufflers do eventuly merge into one pipe behind the diff you will notice the top pipe after the merge between the two is bigger than before it and the smaller pipe under that goes past the rear resonator and is blanked off as a tuned resonant chamber i have heard of people changing to ph4480's with good results and also have heard other extractor - exhaust combos that resulted in more noise but less power than factory but the end result can vary from one car to another.
