Default T5 and LSD now in!

Well after driving 2.5hrs to pick everything up and a long all night stint, my EF is now a 5spd with a 3.45LSD

I left at 6.30am Saturday to go pick it up and was back home at lunchtime. I got straight into it as soon as I got back. I worked from 1pm till 2am and got the diff in and the auto out, then this morning got the T5 in. Doing a diff and T5 conversion without anyone to help is a bloody big effort! I'm sore and I've got skin off everywhere, but it was definately worth it.

Had a few hiccups along the way, but nothing major. The worst one was modding the ED pedal box to fit, which wasn't too hard. Still running the auto ECU at the moment, just disconnected the ISC to fix the idle fluctuation, tomorrow I have to fiddle round and try and turn the thermo fans off.

All in all it was the best $900 I've ever spent. 1st gear traction is basically non existant and 2nd results in a bit of sideways action till it finally regains traction!

That was quick, how the hell did you manage to get the gear box in by yourself, we were strugling with 3 people.. lol. Good effort, I bet it's heaps more fun to drive now.

Damo, it involved a lot of obscene language and a trolley jack. :P

It's unreal to drive now. I've wasted 3/4 of a tank of fuel just driving around! lol.

I need to get an EF/EL gearknob as well, the ED one that's in it doesn't sit in the right spot.

On the pedal box issue....I can't beleive Ford didn't just put the pin for the clutch pedal on auto pedal boxes! It would have saved them a whole of 50c not having it there!

That's a very good effort to get it all done in a such a short time by yourself. I'm guessing that in that time you also had to pull the dash out to do the pedal box as well? Great stuff!
