Lightbulb Mistakes in Street Machine - Ford Magazines...

Hey all

During a chat on IRC, we came up with the idea of making a thread up regarding the amount of mistakes that Street Machine have printed in their 4 'Australia's Toughest Fords' magazines, then e-mail them with the mistakes (and our URL ;) ).

A couple from the newest one in the EF-EL buyers guide.
- 'The EF featured improvements such as engine fans (on the sixes)' what about the 8's?
- The ELII has improved cylinder heads to the series I...
- The crank angle sensor in EL 6's can give trouble.. Never heard if it myself.

Keep the ball rolling...

good reason to keep the EEC is the AU VCT. Next to a pic of a BBM butterfly switch.

Bucketloads of errors.

i thought that replacement for the HO upper with twin throttle bodies was a good laugh. considering its the lower that is the restriction. and the setup cost over 2k as well, you could have a top of the line edelbrook or trickflow unit that replaces both upper and lower for well under that. it was disapointing they didnt give us a dyno graph of the fully sick twin throttle body setup, must have been good for about 2hp.

Am I the only one who noticed that twin TB set up doesn't have EGR or an ISC? Love to do a code check on that. Stock MAF? What the hell are they thinking? That manifold has to be all **** factor.

Some of the BS ya read is unbelievable. But most is info they get from the car owners. AND if the car owner talks BS the BS get's printed.

I do agree though, some extra reseach wouldn't hurt, especially as SM amd other mag's are used as bibles for car enthusiests. I bought every one for years and have kept them in A1 and used to use them as reference material.
