hey ALL
i've got a couple of questions to ask. I have a EB series 2 I6 with stock brakes that shudder i want to up grade instead of machining again. 1. i want to up grade my brakes but in a simple way. ive been told that V8 brake boosters work better than stock I6 ones. is this true? 2. what are the cost of slotted rotors? and are they much better? 3. is it possible to easly adapt later model brakes to my car eg:AU? thanks heaps. :1syellow1

i would think slotted rotors, and good pads would be cheapest and easiest upgrade

if you were lucky you could find an el gt set but youd need rims to fit the huge rotors in. go slotted [and crossdrilled if you want] and get some good pads. it will cost you a fair bit to fit AU brakes which arent any bigger i dont think? and yes the v8 boosters are a bit better.

AUII/III had a Twin-Piston Setup up front. I'm selling my ones, if you are interested.
To further make the conversion to the twin-piston setup, you will also need: - Aftermarket Swaybar (& Possibly Swaybar Mounting Points) - 16" Wheels or Greater - Lower Control Arms - Uprights Theres a bit involved, but slotted rotors and different pads, would be the cheap route, and would still be pretty good on the street. Although, my AUIII did pull up a fair bit harder compared to my mates AUI, which has the same brakes as you.

the lower control arms from an au wont fit in an eb.... so that turfs any idea out the window of using the au set up...

thanks guys i think i will just go the slotted rotors with some nice pads and a v8 brake booster.

If u use au k-frame then u need au sterring rack, and then the stering coupling wont fit, yada yada yada.. the list goes on. Id go the sloted rotors and good pads

cebco brakes to an upgraded full package for e-series. While it isn't 'cheap' it is complete.
For $2700 + fitting (all the parts included, you could do it yourself) you get PBR twin piston calipers, pads, braided lines and sizable 330mm discs (also includes brake fluid and other things I haven't mentioned. If you are serious about proper performance braking they also do a 4 pistion AP Racing kit for $3995. Both of these are front only kits which do 80% of your braking capacity anyway. nah i don't plan on spending that much im omly a student with no money!!
but the apeal of nice huge stompa brakes is damn nice. i think i will just stay cheap as for the moment.
