Default SA Undercover cop cars

So as most South Australian Members would know the SAPOL's undercover demon is a VE Commo with normal plates not government.

Now up uptil now they have been an easy spot with the 3 aerials on the back window (insted of the commos single)

After the past few weeks ive seen undervoer cars with the single aerial only spotable by the small light boxes behind the rear headrests.

just making you aware the SAPOL guys are getting shiftier

Using Mitsu 380's aswell. Also some FPV's (although the FPV's are easy to spot with Sirens on a front metal bar lol) ... Also I have noticed that some VE Commo's no longer have the White LED sirens behind their front Mirror. But instead Hide little (Blue one side, Red the other) Sirens in the door pillars so you can't tell... .. All good I'm a good boy now days anyway

Been around for ages in this guise.

Why would we need to know this anyway?

From what I heard the coppers (at least in WA) have switched their raido systems to digital meaning their undercover cars no longer need the multiple ariels hanging off the back of them.

cops have gotta do whatever it takes to keep ahead of people who may be watching out for them. In our area the cops have started putting chev badges on their VE SS's to catch people out.

I was sitting at the lights one lovely day after having pulled up next to a plain looking VE I didnt think twice about. Minding my own business and did the sideways perve thing guys do at the lights. Anyway, male officer is giving the car the once over which concerned me as ride height is only a few mm over legal, but he nods and smiles and I drive off.

Got me thinking though I'd like the same to be happening to a clunker that takes off in a cloud of oil smoke, or a lowered on its guts chunk of illegality, or for those that seem to live on smoking rubber at every light. Unmarked cars have their place, and I reckon they're welcome.

Full marked up cars are a great deterrent, but we need vehicles like this to keep our roads safer.

Oh too true. Everyone who cares overly what the cops are driving are probably the ones who get caught more often, then have the brass neck to complain about it. Simple solution? Don't break the law.

I wasn't in anyway saying that I need to watch out because i break the law im actually quiet the calm driver when I drive my falcon.

Just merely saying that SAPOL are fighting smarter not harder

I hope to be a copper soon and its good to see so many police cars in Adelaide.

In the UK and in other states dont see nearly as many cops.

I've seen a Camry doing the rounds in the southern suburbs. There is also that white van that they park on Hindley (and elsewhere..) now and then. The van is used for rego/ license checks and is always parked though.

Right here in Canberra - are too easy to know what kind and what car they use. They only use two types of vehicles = which are ford and holden.

Ford: Ford XR8 F6 and plain FG
Holden = VE SS

sometimes rare occassion they have mist 380's as well.

They are wearing LED lights tucked snugy besides the rear plates, and some of them don't but sits on back window - and they use police plain wheels, that we can not get.

i think it is a great thing that we have members of the police force here on AFF it gives us general public someone to call on if we need help on any matter that may be of a police matter

Redrum has help many ( in Vic ) out over the last few years and that is good enough for me
