most guys on here are not XR5 owners. However I'm sure you'll get your answer at www.fordxr5turbo.com

I thought this would be an easy one to answer but after having a very brief poke around the xr5 forums I couldn't see it. It is in there though (and btw tell your sister to join the forum! It's a gold mine of info, plus it's very social)

The short answer is not a huge amount. They only run a small turbo that's pretty close to full capacity (meaning little headroom for increasing boost)

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and assume that you're looking at squeezing a few more neddies out of the car?
If so, then don't play with the turbo. The consequences will make your wallet a desert like abyss.

Instead jump on the xr5 forum and check out ecu remaps. There are several companies (most popular of which would have to be dreamscience) And how these work is by adjusting things like fuel:air mixtures, when and how hard the turbo boosts as well as throttle mapping, maybe even ignition timing... Not sure on that one. Anything contoled by the ecu it will manipulate to find more power.

But they're just the start. If you want more power out of it, get on those forums and start reading.

If it helps, it is called a Focus ST in Europe, so if you search, you'll probably find far more information than you will only looking for our uniquely badged XR5

I've just found this entry in the ST owners club forum in the UK.(www.focusstoc.com)

Bluefin refers to a brand of OBDII handheld tuning modules in the UK.

"Hi Joe

The gauge measures upto 1.2 bar (17.4 psi), the car will generally hold around 13 psi and make peak a little higher from time to time. People have reported seeing different readings on the guage though and maybe an owner could state what they have seen.

The full 17psi should be available with bluefin fitted though i would think

Mike "
