G'day, glad I found this place
Just wanted to introduce myself, I am Ash from the ACT. I own a 96 EF Fairmont. When I bought the car off of my parents, it was stock everything. Had to love the whole 4wd look as the body sat a good 10cm off of the wheels : Old skool family car: I had my eye on this car before I even had my learners permit as I wanted to do it up and prove to myself and my parents what potential this beaut had. I eyed off a set of CSA Prowlers, saved up my pennies. At the time, the happiest day of my life was watching my car roll out of the tyre shop, with 4 sparkling rims : The interior has been overhauled many a time, this time I have settled for a red and black theme. I rang up a upholstry place and was quoted $3000 for a full leather kit.... stuff that. I ended up going into my local hardware store and buying a meter of red vinyl for ten bucks. The doors look sweet now with the felted board that sits behind the door handle, wrapped with red vinyl. Vinyl/plastic spray paint quickly became my new best friend about 2 years ago.... still is then I discovered plastic protector.... damn it gives a great glossy effect and the paint doesnt peel off under your hands Anyways, Ill post up some interior shots later, but back to the main event. My exgirlfriend used to laugh at the sound of the exhaust, as it had the stock exhaust system.... so off I went and had a 2 1/2 incher fitted just for some purr. I was searching for a nice looking bodykit to have fitted, eventually settling on the Venom front and rear bar, with EL side skirts and bonnet vents. I had the rear spoiler removed as the paint was all chipped and rotting away. Next job was the springs: Oh baby!! Picked up some Bosch super low springs down at the coast (after alot of hassling my old man, "Uhh.... the suspension is rooted dad, may as well get some new springs : ") Only today I had some Genie headers fitted as well as a high flo catalitic convertor... I was told they smell like rotten egg when they are burning in... smells alright to me :/ I was so suprised by the extra performance I am getting, the response time is so much better and I am getting at least 10% more ooooomph... Anyone have any feedback on the Genie headers? Anyways, that's me and my girl. My jobs for the future include: Spraying the brake clamps red Turbo fitted Racing seats put in Retint the windows Recarpted the interior and fabricate the roof. I am looking for a polished silver rocker cover, where can I get one? Okay, I'll leave with some pics, and just say gday Hope you enjoy. Ash PS: Sorry about the image sizes, I am a high res man Side on shot: Rear and sides Front and side |

Very nice EF mate. Spik and Span!
I love the kit you've put on it - I've been looking for a kit that wasn't too out there, and it looks like Venom is a winner. Welcome to the forums - always nice to see a great EF ;) I'm interested in your interior as I've been messing around with mine recently too.

Welcome. You've certainly got a nice looking car. The bodykit looks great. I didn't know you could get a venom front bar to suit Fairmonts. I've seen them on GLis and on XRs but never on a Fairmont. To make it look even nicer, personally I would fit a chrome mesh grille (like on the Fairlane by Tickford). They look a heap nicer than the standard Fairmont one. Looking forward to your interior pics.

Regarding the rocker cover, if you have the time I'm sure you could take yours off, strip the paint, and polish it up heaps with some kind of anti-rust stuff? Or get a spare cover cheap from a wreckers or fellow E-Series owner and take your time on that ;)
Nice ride mate -Dave- |

Great looking EF mate!
I'm not normally a fan of bodykits on Falcons, but that is real nice. Ash (the other one :P )
