I have a Series 1 Sedan that over the past year I have been having intermitent trouble with not being able to open the boot with either the remote or the button on the dash, the only way to open the boot now is via the cable. The first thing i noticed was that boot light wasn't working so i replaced the globe (didn't help) then it started with the boot lock not poping so I got a new lock from the wreckers at $60.00 still didn't help, now I have just replaced it with a brand new one ($220.00 +T) and it still doesn't work. My Question is has anybody had the same problem and what can I do to fix the problem.
Cheers Greg |

If you have replaced the lock then it will be a wiring problem - check the wiring for damage or shorts

Hi Greg,
Did you ever fix this problem? I have an AU XR6 with exactly the same problem plus my number plate light doesn't work!. I would be interested to know what fixed it (if it was fixed!). Thanx, David |
