EA-ED TB was 65mm IIRC... XF was 70mm or so
Main reason for the reduction would be for better throttle response since a 70mm TB on an 4.0 I6 isnt needed unless you are pushing big power.

Plus the fact the same % opening on a 70mm is going to have a lot more airflow than a 65mm. It would make low speed driving a bit harder
