Default anybody know how i could do this?

i have already got mine open and i just need a way to make it spring back anybody have any ideas?

You need something like a torsion spring. Electronics store perhaps. From the vt commodore onwards, they have a compartment like that just in front of the gear selector. You would get a good idea from seeing one.

well i couldnt get the spring but i managed to get it to open and close with magnets its great it just magnets together and stays closed here is a picture of it open

Hey magnets, good idea. I wonder why the Ford boffins didn't make it a compartment in the first place.

If you look at the pre production models, you'll see it was an ashray sort of slide out holder. But in the last stages of development, they canned the idea as the space was deemed too small to be useful.

yea i know it is fully enclosed inside like it is meant to be a compartment, but i took it to a ford dealer and asked them if they could make it stay closed and he told me it was not meant to open so he stuck it closed again, so thats when i made it work myself haha

Also note the silver door handles, silver wallet holder and Dotts Soho trim on the drivers armrest. The arms of the side mirrors were also body coliured, so they made a few key changes in the time the model was shown and release date.

o okay danny sorry i only just read what you said i wish they had made it like that because it is big enough to fit my GPS in it and i could fit a tray for coins aswell
