Default tranny probs

hey, just wondering if anyone can help me with a question. does three speed auto or the four speed in that fact have a common fault with reverse gear? i have all three gears in drive but no reverse. any info would be good

common no, possible yes.

3 speed = 800 rebuild.
4 speed = 2000 rebuild.

Does it just rev in reverse and go no where or whats it doing.

yeh i give it a rev and it gets a slight movement but not much at all. any clues?

Have you done the obvious and changed the oil?? Sometimes that can be it.

Could be.... rear clutch could be slipping,eg worn plates,check valve faulty,rear clutch siezed and or distorted,man i could go on@on... check your fluid level if its ok i would say your trans is stuffed , get it raco'd or get a replacement ..good luck with it mate..

rear band is externally adjustable I recall, could get an auto place to check it, but sounds like its done for.

i had this about 3 months ago and my rear band was broken i had all gears but no reverse and it would just rev in R once band goes its time for a recondition and it cost me $750
